Travel information
For a small part of the country, there are plenty of ways of getting to the Scilly Islands! Your options are as follows:
By sea: The Scillonian III leaves Penzance at 09:15 on most days. The service is seasonal, however, and crossings dates and times can also vary according to tides and special events, such as the Gig Weekend. For full details about the service, and for the timetable, please visit: www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk.
By plane: The Skybus flies to the Isles of Scilly from five UK airports: Land’s End, Newquay, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton. There are regular flights most days throughout the year from Land’s End and Newquay, and daily flights between April and September from the other airports. Please check their website for full details: www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk.
By helicopter: There are at least three flights per day between the mainland and the Isles of Scilly via helicopter. The flights currently leave from Penzance, but from 30 June 2012 will leave from Newquay airport (fares will remain the same).
